Shipping policy
Brodie is a peer-to-peer marketplace. Sellers are independent individuals who arrange and pay for their own
shipping. Brodie does not operate a centralised fulfilment service and does not set shipping rates. This policy sets out
the framework that all sellers and buyers must follow.
9.1 Who pays for shipping
Buyers pay for shipping at checkout. The shipping cost is set by the seller and displayed on the listing and confirmed
at checkout before purchase. Brodie does not add to or take a percentage of the shipping fee.
9.2 Seller shipping obligations
● Sellers must use a tracked delivery service for all items — untracked shipping is not permitted
● Sellers must dispatch items within the timeframe stated in their listing
● Sellers must upload proof of postage when requested by Brodie
● Sellers must package items securely to prevent damage in transit
● Sellers must ship to the address provided at checkout and must not request alternative addresses through
private messages
● Sellers are responsible for any customs or import duties on international shipments
9.3 Delivery timeframes
Delivery timeframes are estimated and set by sellers based on their location and chosen carrier. Brodie does not
guarantee delivery dates. Buyers can view the estimated delivery timeframe on the listing before purchasing. Delays
caused by postal services, customs, or circumstances outside the seller's control are not grounds for a dispute.
9.4 Lost or damaged items
If an item has not arrived within a reasonable time and the seller cannot provide proof of delivery, buyers may raise
a dispute through the in-Platform dispute centre. Brodie accepts no liability for items lost, delayed, or damaged by
third-party delivery services. Where a claim is upheld, the seller may be required to issue a refund or resolve the
issue with their chosen carrier directly.
9.5 Return shipping
If a dispute is upheld and a return is required, the buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs. Return items
must be sent using a tracked service. Brodie accepts no liability for items lost in return transit.
9.6 International shipping
Some sellers may offer international shipping. Buyers are responsible for understanding any customs duties, import
taxes, or restrictions that may apply in their country. Brodie accepts no liability for items held at customs or refused
entry.
9.7 Brodie's limitation of liability for shipping
Brodie is not a shipping provider and accepts no liability whatsoever for the loss, delay, theft, or damage of
any item in transit. All shipping disputes are between the buyer, seller, and the relevant delivery carrier.
Brodie may assist in facilitating communication but is not responsible for the outcome of any shipping-
related claim.
